The art of ELIZABETH ASCHE DOUGLAS has won AWARDS in many shows, including the Appalachian Corridors Exhibition at the Avampato Discovery Museum in Charleston, WV, the Butler Institute of American Art Annual in Youngstown, OH and the National Christian Fine Art Exhibition in Farmington NM. The International Biographical Centre of Cambridge, U.K., lists her in its Directory of Women in the Arts. She is also in the 2012 edition of Marquis' "Who's Who in America" and Galey Publishing's "Who's Who Among African Americans.
ELIZABETH ("Betty") ASCHE DOUGLAS is shown here (photo courtesy of Drew and Lynne Hutmire Gordon) at Pittsburgh's August Wilson Center with her painting "Condemned House" in the "Common Ground: Affrilachia, Where I'm From" exhibition. It features works by African American artists from the 13 states of the Appalachian region. It will be on view until March 17, 2012.
DOUGLAS ART GALLERY is a member of the Beaver County (PA) Chamber of Commerce and ELIZABETH ASCHE DOUGLAS is on the board of the Rochester (PA) Chamber of Commerce, where she chairs the scholarship committee and edits the Newsletter. She also serves on the boards of the Merrick Art Gallery Associates (New Brighton PA) the Midland, PA Arts Council, Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School and the Beaver Valley (PA) local of the American Federation of Musicians. She is on the Advisory Board of Sweetwater Center for the Arts, Sewickley PA and on the Guild Council of the Pittsburgh (PA) Filmmakers/Pittsburgh Center for the Arts.
